Statement of Qumran-Digital on the October 7, 2023 Hamas Terrorist Attack on Israel and Its Aftermath
We, representing the project
Qumran-Digital, unequivocally condemn the terrorist attack perpetrated by Hamas against Israel on
October 7, 2023 and the continuing strategy by that organisation and other ones like it of using
surviving kidnap victims and others as human shields in the war that has ensued.
Qumran-Digital
categorically denounces all forms of anti- semitism and the propagation of disinformation about Israel
and the Jewish people by those who incite violence against Jews and advocate for Israel's
destruction. We deplore such activities and disassociate ourselves from any individuals within
universities, academic circles, or scholarly organisations who engage in them.
Acknowledging the
profound suffering on both sides, we extend our support to all sincere and honest efforts to bring
about true and lasting concord between Israel and those of her Palestinian and other neighbours who
are willing to embrace the ideal of peaceful coexistence.
